FMCSA vs Florida
An Active FMCSA property MC is interstate operating authority. It is not a Florida oversize permit, not IRP, not IFTA, and not intrastate authority. If this load never leaves Florida, ask whether they have the state credential — and still match legal name on L&I if an MC is on the rate con.
As of September 2026, table 1 to 49 CFR 387.9 still lists $750,000, $1,000,000, and $5,000,000. The January 16, 2026 change is broker/freight-forwarder BMC-84/85 at $75,000 — your house, not the truck. The March 2026 FMCSA notice still says: do not buy or sell a USDOT or MC outside a real corporate deal.
UCR is a separate annual filing. It is not BMC-91 and not a FL OS/OW permit. Confirm UCR on the national UCR site if your process requires it. Then come back to L&I for the truck.

Ask the carrier which legal entity holds the FL permit. If the permit is in a different LLC than the rate con, you do not have a carrier. Screenshot the permit with the load file. A verbal “we’re permitted in Florida” is not the portal.
